Some sayings

The Truth

In wrestling, you can’t point at anybody. It is all about what you do and you earn the results and you live with them. That translates really well in life too. Wrestling it a grueling sport. Totally crazy and excruciating. The only thing worse than doing it is watching a family member do it. It’s a tough parent sport, but it is great training for life. That is one of the biggest values of the sport. Like most things that are hard, it’s good for you. -Iowa football coach Kirk Ferentz talking about wrestling

Why Wrestle?

Wrestling prepares a person to fight the game of life.
The wrestler is the one athlete that must meet his opponent and do battle completely on his own;
No one can substitute: no time outs are possible.
He has no one to check, screen, block, or assist him in any way;
There is no one to blame for his mistakes.
When he wins, he must show quiet pride and modesty.
When he loses, the responsibility is his.
Wrestling is a true sport.
In other sports, when contact is made, they blow the whistle to stop the action;
In wrestling, when contact is made, we’re just getting started.
No other sport requires more sacrifice than wrestling.
The individual, through self-denial, offers more of his character than ever be explained here.
It is something he carries with him throughout life…
Through every trial, test, and tribulation.

What type of Man are you?

Most men stop when they begin to tire.
Good men go until they think they are going to collapse.
But the very best know the mind tires before the body and push themselves further and further, beyond all limits.
Only when their limits are shattered can the attainable be reached.
– Mark Mysnyk
